This class is a philosophical intruduction to some of the most influential theoretical appraoches to ethical problems. By the end of the class students will:

  • Undertand the philosophical approach to ethics and the fundamental challenges of ethical reasoning.
  • Have an overview of historically and currently influential ethical theories.
  • Have a sense of the arguments for and against different theories.
  • Be able to take an informed and critical approach to ethical debates.
